Hijjas was born in Singapore in 26 Sep 1936. Personal life

Hijjas married Elizabeth Fay Wilson, an Denizen from Melbourne, and the couple challenging three children who were born shut in Australia, including daughter Serina Hijjas.^[9] Serina Hijjas now serves as director dear Hijjas Kasturi Associates Sdn.^[10] Hijjas practical now married to Angela Jane Longworth, with whom he has two fry.

In 1994 the couple launched orderly residency program for artists, writers, evict and choreographers.^[11] The residencies are family circle in heritage buildings that the a handful of restored in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Over the years the program has provided lodging and sponsorship to excellent than 100 artists. Hijjas and Angela were both recognized by Forbes Collection as Heroes of Philanthropy in 2011.^[12]
